U.S. / China Tariff Update

5/16/2019

To DSG Customers,

DSG is keeping close track of material costs considering the latest events surrounding tariffs between the United States and China. As of Friday, May 10th, previously announced U.S. tariff increases were implemented, which increased tariffs by an additional 15% on $200 billion a year worth of Chinese goods.

For our industry this has had the effect of raising inflationary pressures for many of DSG’s manufacturers, with several already providing notices of price increases becoming effective later this month. Additionally, manufacturers supplying products and equipment for the commercial sector have implemented very short windows for honoring pricing on quotes. This may also shorten the time DSG is able to honor pricing on our quotes. To make sure you have the information you need to make the best decisions for your business, DSG is working closely with our suppliers and will be communicating updates as appropriate.

This continues to be a challenging time for our industry, and we are appreciative of your patience and continued support as we work toward responding to and communicating these changes as quickly and smoothly as possible.

Sincerely,
Mike Meiresonne – COO
